Book a Talk, Workshop, or Curatorial Collaboration

I offer Book Talks, Workshops, and Curatorial Projects focused on the cultural legacies of Cuba, the Caribbean, and the African Diaspora.

These sessions are designed for academic, organizations, cultural, and community settings, inviting participants into meaningful conversations around identity, music, memory, and migration.

What I Offer

📘 Book Talks
Engaging presentations based on my recently published book, exploring the emergence of Cuban transnational music scenes, Cuban Fusion, and evolving Afro-diasporic music legacies since the 1990s. These talks weave storytelling, music, and research to examine how artists across world cities reshape diasporic soundscapes and cultural identity.
Ideal for universities, festivals, libraries, and cultural organizations seeking to spark conversation around music, migration, arts, Cuba, the Caribbean and the African diaspora.

🎤 Workshops
Interactive, research-based sessions designed for students, educators, artists, and cultural audiences. These workshops combine multimedia, group discussion, and reflection, and can be tailored to 60–90 minutes or longer formats depending on the setting.

Available topics include:

  • Renaissance of Afro-Diasporic Legacies in Cuban Music

  • Female and Non-Binary Creative Voices Across the African Diaspora

  • Cuban Fusion Music Around the World: A Living Archive

Workshops can be delivered in person or virtually and are adaptable to classroom, conference, or community environments.
